Our story
A home in Ruhija
Built by a son of these hills, for family coming home — and for guests who arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
Our father grew up here, in the villages at the edge of Bwindi. He spent his childhood on these forest paths, long before most visitors had heard the name Ruhija.
Years later, with his family living in Kampala, he built Gift of Nature Lodge as a place for all of us to come home to. Somewhere to return to the forest, the cool air and the neighbours he grew up with.
Today we open that home to visitors too. With only ten rooms, it stays quiet and personal. You are a guest in our family's home, not a number on a list.
